Yeah, Scotty really lit a fire under the Wings, didn't he? I think he would've retired sooner if he didn't have such a good club.
Hey others who are planning our dates etc...when is the big date? Chris & I would like to know in advance so we have clean pants to wear! LOL

Sheryl, you would think they'd let us at least let one of us know when it is. LOL
I became a hockey fan in the early 90's and even more-so when the Wings picked up Scotty Bowman for the headcoach.

Geez Chris, looks like our friends have all this planned out for us. Too bad they didn't consult us!
Nelson, I liked your inputs on where to pee! (ROFLSLIPMP) Now you have one for when "F" comes up-Fly on the wall! (tee-hee! I just got a mental image of you trying to hit a fly on the wall! OMG! What an image LOL!)
It does seem we have alot in common Chris. I'm a Wing fan by birth, how did you become a fan?
I can take your ribbing Ron...just give me a good opening, and I'll get you back. You won't know when or how, but I'll get you! LOL!

Hahaha you two. The Shell was in the Democrat right after Katrina. They were being accused of gouging, plus hoarding gas for the owner's family. That's where I got the idea that some stations in Tally were selling only some of their gas, then saying they didn't have any even tho they did. Watch out Chris, I may make your pants disappear again! tee-hee!

Sheryl, thanks for keeping everyone on track, even from a distance!
I wasn't aware of the Shell Station facing a gouging charge. I copied and pasted the information from a local news source, and they didn't mention Shell. What else is going on there? How come you know about it and I don't...and you are hundreds of miles away? :)

I agree with you N4dog. Are you and Joker gonna be able to make the breakfast fsuford spoke about? It's just this sort of topic that we talk about, and what about you, Ron? I haven't seen your reply yet on the thread for b'fast on the 29th yet.
Oh, and Donna, you forgot the Shell on Cap Cir NW was also cited...althought it was for more than just gouging, so maybe they won't be allowed to settle.
All ya'll need to go to the b'fast and discuss! And don't forget the media Joker!

They should not have been offered an out of court settlement. IMO. That is just wrong. They should have force to open the store and drop the price by how ever much they gouged everyone for how ever long they gouged people.

I'm glad everyone else brought up the slamming of Fords instead of me! Joker69377, you must not mind Fords too much if you were smart enough to buy your wife one.

Let me check my calendar. I actually do have a contact at the Democrat.
I might be able to set something up. Will let you know soon.
Oh, BTW, I just bought my wife a 2005 "FORD" Mustang GT. I guess I could have said Yugo instead of .... cough.. hack.. retch.. Ford. I'm a chevy man myself. hehehehe

Ooooohhh, Joker. Since you are a rookie, we, fsuford and big_mac, will forgive your remark about fords.LOL! But you have a good idea. WTXL has the lowest prices on every night at 6, which helps. You might want to check the thread New and old member lunch. If many of us can get together, we could invite the Democrat, plus Fox and CBS to maybe do a piece on Gas Buddies. Do I hear you volunteer to make it on the 29th and contact the media??

Hello again everyone...just a quick update. WTXL-TV now has a graphic with a hyperlink on their website to tallahasseegasprices.com, so let's expect to see even more newbies here. BTW, I have been so busy cleaning up newbie postings. I wish they'd read the forums to learn about not posting the same station twice!

Yes, the broadcast was done out of a converted touring bus. Janet's show "Faith2Action" was aired from it right before Crosstalk, for the whole week. She let several kids from the camp get on the air on one of the shows. Thing was, she also took callers & you had to have a headset to hear them well.
"Jeff you should have stayed on the bus. I would have had you on the show." "It was getting crowded, so I just listened on the radio. We still have Friday though... I'll tell the lizard story..." "No you won't."

I was internet-challenged the whole week I was in Wisconsin. Away from wireless cellphone coverage (at least w/ Cingular), and my dial up didn't work due to a corrupted file in the Compuserve/AOL software I couldn't fix until later.
Ironically, our group knew about the Supreme Court nomination of John Roberts 45 minutes before the rest of the country because Janet Folger was lecturing (see the "lunch" thread ) and her assistant in DC called her on the cell right when she was talking.
About 2 minutes into this program is where I get mentioned on the air.

Hi Donna! I'm driving back to Tally tomorrow, and tonight is the first time I've had a computer to play with! I haven't had TV or a newspaper since I left, so all I know is that gas prices skyrocketed in every state! So what's the scoop as you understand it??
